Painting Workshop and #137

SOLD

I got to feel like a real artist yesterday!  I wandered into a gallery in Old Town last wednesday and saw a flyer for a painting workshop, so I went home and looked up the details and we decided we could afford one day : )!  The workshop was with Joan Fullerton who describes herself as an intuitive artist, how perfect.  She was a riot and so much fun!  I could go on and on about the wonderful day I had (9:30am-5pm) but I’ll keep it short.  My table mates were a hoot!  3 ladies who came down from Wyoming together.  And being in the Fine Art and Frame Gallery was just so inspiring!  Here are some shots from the day:

We started the first session with something call Monoprint making, which is what you see at the top of this blog post.  I was a little bummed at first because this is what they were supposed to be doing the next day, and Saturday was supposed to be all about abstract with hints of reality – which is what I was super excited about.  But the print making turned out to be such a free-ing exercise and so much fun!  (I looked into buying some of the materials for that when I got home…so keep an eye out for more of these).  Then after lunch we got into some collaging > I’ll post some of those tomorrow.

Here are some more examples of my monoprints:
